New Journey

Here I am posting my first post on my blog.  I am excited.  I am more excited about standard's-based grading and how it has changed my teaching.  It has improved my interaction with my students and actually placed more responsibility on their shoulders.  Organizing the data is always important. My first year I felt like I was drowning.  I found that using check lists as I conferenced with my student was extremely helpful.  I also used Engrad online grade book to set up my grading.  I loved this site because I can look at just one student or my whole class and it was extremely helpful during conferences with parents.
